The Dark Side of the Moon is the eighth studio album by English rock band Pink Floyd, released on 1 March 1973 by Harvest Records. Primarily developed during live performances, the band premiered an early version of the record several months before recording began. New material was recorded in two sessions in 1972 and 1973 at Abbey Road Studios in London.
The record builds on ideas explored in Pink Floyd's earlier recordings and performances, while omitting the extended instrumentals that characterised their earlier work. A concept album, its themes explore conflict, greed, time, death, and mental illness, the latter partly inspired by the deteriorating health of founding member Syd Barrett, who departed the group in 1968. The group used advanced recording techniques at the time, including multitrack recording, tape loops, and analogue synthesizers. Snippets from interviews with the band's road crew, as well as philosophical quotations, were also used. Engineer Alan Parsons was responsible for many sonic aspects and the recruitment of singer Clare Torry, who appears on "The Great Gig in the Sky". The iconic sleeve, which depicts a prism spectrum, was designed by Storm Thorgerson, following keyboardist Richard Wright's request for a "simple and bold" design, representing the band's lighting and the record's themes. The album was promoted with two singles: "Money" and "Us and Them".

It's just today I figured out that the last scene of the MV was from that concert where her husband broke up with her through message. She wore the same dress, going to the riser,  crying.  When she stepped in,  as she heard the crowd scream her name,  she held her hand up in position and faked a smile twice.  Then the riser starts to go up,  and she put on that show.
I just watched her sobbing her heart out after her ex husband broke up w her over text and now I finally understand everything. 6 years late to the party yall
I miss the teenage dream era :(

something about her vocals from this album...she had much better songs back then
this song is about the truth about the music industry and how it brought her away from god. .the scene where she eats the fruit off the vine 1:27 (the story of adam and eve where when they eat the fruit they are wide awake at the truth about good and evil), "fallin from cloud 9", etc etc etc. fun fact: before this katy was a christian singer.
Her most stunning and well made music video. And arguably one of her best songs. The visuals are gorgeous with such a cinematic story and profound message. Just incredible.

I watched this music video when i was 12 and i didn't understand anything.but when i watched this music video again i realized lots of messages that katy tried to give us.And when i look at witness era and this music video i understand that katy didn't change.She had same feelings all the time but she showed those feeling clearly in witness era. And im so proud of her.
